Earn money from your blog
So you’ve been thinking that it’s time that you start earning some money from all the hard work you’ve been putting into your blog? Guess what, so does everyone else also think. I’ve read quite a few so-called recipes on how to make money on web, ranging from utterly junk to even worse. If you didn’t already know, no – there are no quick way to earn money, it takes time, devotion – and not least, dedication towards the webpage(s) that you run. Then what exactly can one do to make money? The clue is, don’t aim at making money, aim at making something you love, that you care for and that you have great fun in doing.
Basic concept
Your webpage and/or blog is something you should be enjoying, and having fun while you make it – people won’t even care to stop by clicking ads, or donating money if the site doesn’t have anything that interrest them or show that the people behind it does it because they think its fun. Take a look at the blogs today where people are making quite a bit of money, they didn’t start out with the basic aim of making money, but they started out because they thought it was fun, and kept on going, because it still is fun.
Now, having fun isn’t the whole part of it, sure – there are always people that can manage to earn money from just talking about their day-to-day life; though that is quite rare. If you really do want to attract attention, then write about something you can offer; may it be drawings, gardening or motors. If you one day find yourself stuck at something and find a solution, you can be quite certain that there are others out there that have had the exact same problem as you, and would in turn end up searching the internet to find a solution. People will in time find their way to your blog, and thus if it has information that interrests them, they would most likely also bookmark you and check back again.
Search Engine Optimalization (SEO)
You’ve setup a site, great – and you’ve published articles covering some aspects of what I mentioned above, awesome! So now what? If you just sit around waiting for people to notice you, then you could as well just go watch paint dry instead. The main clue is to make your site optimalized for search engines; and there is a wide range of things to think about when optimalizing a site. I won’t go in depth on that here; as there are both addons for wordpress, and books about how to make a site fully optimalized. Why do this? The better you optimalize your site, the easier it is for a search engine to find publications when people perform searches. In turn, that will generate more hits, and more people will see your ads and/or donate.
User contributions
Include your readers, have them contribute publications or texts that will go out, it will create an atmosphere where the users will know that they have a way ot interracting with your blog, and also that they are heard. In time you’ll also notice that certain individuals will stand out, and you could then offer them a business proposal; in terms of that they will be a ordinary writer for your webpage and get parts of the income. You will generate more content, people will find more and diverse publications – more people will find and enjoy the site, and also know that if they contribute, it could be them whom at a later stage could be earning money with you.
These are just a few glimpse into what you can do to earn money from you site. There are still lots of topics that aren’t covered here, some are easy and quick to implement – others require a bit more time and dedication, though the outcome of it – could be rather good. One book I could recommend is “Blog and make Cash“. A easy-to-read ebook that costs merely nothing to buy.
