Last night I published a small contest for Spotify accounts, it clearly was rather popular – but since I was a bit tired when I published that contest it soon came clear to me that it would probably not be of any interrest to most people to actually complete it. So I stopped that contest and instead I start this new contest. The whole goal here is to use your brain, and everyone can participate as much as they’d like. I will randomly select 5 people with the correct answer to receive a Spotify account. The contest is a riddle; your goal is to figure out what word or name the riddle refer to. There are several possible solutions to this riddle. You need to comment on how you achieved the solution as well as the solution word. NOTE: The riddle has been removed and now updated with a easy-to-follow way to register yourself an Spotify account.

Register yourself an Spotify account!

I’ve gotten so much visitors from people looking for Spotify invites, so I decided to give you some information on how you can get your own account without an invitation. Keep in mind, that this is NOT a supported way from Spotify, and clearly not how they intended for their registration to work either. Anyhow, if you want a Spotify account you need to make www.spotify.com think that you come from a country where registration is open. By now, registration is open in Sweden, United Kingdom and France. How can I achieve this you ask? Simple, you use a web-based proxy located in any of those countries. Simply do a search on Google for “web proxy united kingdom”. I’ve included a step-by-step explanation below on how to achieve this:

1. Goto proxy 1 or proxy 2.
2. Enter www.spotify.com as web-address – close down any pop-ups that might appear.
3. Click “continue anyway” if you get such a message.
4. You will now see the main page of spotify, there you can see a “get started” button, click it.
5. Fill out the registration form using a desired username/password and postal code has to be “SW1A 2AB”
6. Leave the country to be set as “United Kingdom” – this is important!
7. Complete the registration, registration is completed and you can download the client.
8. Congratulations, you are now the proud owner of a Spotify account.

Important: After 14 days the account will expire. This is due to that Spotify checks your location towards the country set in your profile. If you are lucky and reside in a country that has been opened for Spotify, you can simply login to your profile, and change your country to your own country. If you however are not residing in any country that Spotify allows yet, you need to follow these few steps:

1. Goto proxy list for United Kingdom.
2. Find a Socks4 or Socks5 proxy.
3. In your Spotify configuration edit your proxy configuration.
4. Select the same type of proxy from the dropdown list, and enter the proxy details as found on the web page.
5. Click apply and restart Spotify.
6. If you encounted error messages, it is most likely due to proxy being down, try a different one.

Note: As I got an invite the ordinary way my own account works like a charm, I did however try this approach, and it worked like a charm for me. It does however require that you follow these steps one at a time making sure you do exactly as stated here. Good luck, and enjoy!
